The CAN Lab uses virtual reality and computational tools to study the motor system and develop engaging and accessible neurorehabilitation techniques.
We use state-of-the-art technology to look at how people plan and execute movements. Much of our research focuses on replicating traditional motor learning experiments in more realistic settings.
We develop low-cost, accessible therapies for stroke motor recovery — designed to be engaging and tailored to each person.
We use psychological and computational motor control frameworks to develop more informative motor assessments.
We are actively recruiting people to take part in our research studies. Your involvement will help us understand how people move and improve rehabilitation outcomes. Participation varies by study, with options ranging from online surveys to longer-term involvement, and most studies compensate participants for their time.
We are an interdisciplinary team with backgrounds in psychology, neuroscience, and computer science, with members ranging from the undergraduate to post-doctoral levels. We foster a collaborative culture that encourages new ideas and supports active learning. Whether you're looking for a co-op, honours project, or graduate position, we'd love to hear from you.
